Frontline areas, including Vuhledar, face severe shortages of personnel and equipment - military expert Zgurets
Defense Express CEO Serhiy Zgurets notes the Russian forces are trying to use their manpower and equipment advantage in all areas of the frontline
He said this on the Espreso TV channel.
“The front line is currently experiencing one of the most difficult periods in recent memory. The Russian forces are trying to use their superiority in manpower and equipment in all sections of the frontline. This advantage is tangible. In Vuhledar, one of the Ukrainian brigades faced five Russian ones. If you count the number of personnel in our brigade and the enemy's, the ratio of manpower was 1 to 10-12. Add to this the Russian guided bombs, which are one of the permanent elements of Russian attack and counteraction, and against which there are still no effective means. This creates conditions for the Russian advantage in advancement,” noted Zgurets.
According to the director of Defense Express, a media and consulting company, what the defenders of the 72nd Brigade did in Vuhledar was courageous and heroic. However, if we had the forces and means to secure the flank of Vuhledar, we could probably have defended it further.
“The lack of forces and means is felt in all sections of the frontline. Commander Syrskyi also says that there is a need for motivated infantry. There is a need for more time to train the military who are mobilized, but there is not enough time,” emphasized Zgurets.
