Ukrainian army lacks infantry to retain positions - military
Ukrainian serviceman Yevhen Iievliev from the Horlivka direction says that the Ukrainian army has a problem with the lack of infantry
He said this on the Espreso TV channel.
“The key position is mobilization. Everyone says that the Russians have done something new at the front, that they had such a dynamic in the Donetsk region that we could observe since April after the battle for Avdiivka. There was nothing extremely new there. The only problem is that we have a very serious shortage of infantry. Positions cannot be held without infantry,” emphasized Iievliev.
According to the Ukrainian Armed Forces serviceman, Ukrainian stormtroopers are taking back positions, UAVs are flying and destroying Russian equipment.
“Believe me, a lot of equipment has been burned on the frontlines where the enemy has advanced. This is a serious blow to the Russian army. But the key question is: if there is no infantry, who will hold the lines? And there are indeed some problems with the infantry. I don't want to scare anyone, but unfortunately, the front line will be getting closer and closer,” Iievliev added.
- Over the past day, October 1, 155 combat clashes took place at the frontline. Russian occupation forces are most actively advancing at the Pokrovsk, Kurakhove and Kupyansk directions.
- On October 1, the DeepState OSINT portal said that Russian terrorists managed to capture the town of Vuhledar in Donetsk region. Suspilne's sources in the brigade defending the city deny the full occupation.
