155 clashes occur at front over last day, with largest number of Russian attacks in three sectors

This is stated in the General Staff's report as of 8:00 a.m. on October 2.

“The situation at the front remains difficult. The enemy, using its superiority in manpower and equipment, is continuously attacking our positions. Ukrainian defenders are steadfastly holding back the onslaught of the occupiers, inflicting maximum losses on the enemy,” the report says.

Thus, yesterday Russia launched two missile attacks on the positions of Ukrainian units and settlements using two missiles, as well as 68 air strikes, including 124 guided bombs. In addition, they fired more than 3,810 times at settlements and positions of Ukrainian troops, 124 of which were from multiple launch rocket systems.

The Russian aggressor carried out air strikes, in particular in the vicinity of 24 settlements.

Yesterday, the aviation, missile forces and artillery of the Ukrainian Defense Forces conducted eight strikes on the areas of Russian personnel and weapons concentration.

Frontline situation

In the Kharkiv direction, Russia continued offensive (assault) actions, with a total of six combat clashes. The fighting took place, in particular, in the areas of Starytsia and Vovchansk.

In the Kupyansk direction, there were 25 hostile attacks over the day. Ukraine's Defense Forces repelled assaults near 8 populated areas.

In the Lyman direction, Russia's troops attacked 17 times. They tried to advance near Chasiv Yar, Hryhorivka and in the direction of Stupochky.

In the Kramatorsk direction, the invading forces attacked eight times near 4 settlements. The situation is under Ukrainian Armed Forces control.

In the Toretsk direction, the Russian troops, with the support of aviation, carried out 16 attacks near Toretsk and Shcherbynivka.

In the Pokrovsk direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled 25 assault and offensive actions of the Russian aggressor near 6 settlements. The largest concentration of Russian attacks was near Myroliubivka, Yelizavetivka and Lysivka, where Russia's army actively used aviation.

In the Kurakhove direction, the Ukrainian Defense Forces repulsed 25 attacks in the area of 5 localities.

In the Vremivka direction, according to updated information, Russia made an unsuccessful attack on Ukrainian positions in the direction of Bohoyavlenka.

In the Orikhiv direction, Ukrainian positions were attacked seven times near 3 populated areas in the last day.

On the border with Belarus, no signs of Russian offensive groups formation were detected.

On the border with the Chernihiv and Sumy regions, the Russian army is actively using artillery and aviation from the territory of the Russian Federation in the vicinity of Ukrainian settlements.

The Ukrainian Defense Forces continue operations in the Kursk region. Over the past day, Russia launched 15 air strikes in the Kursk region, using 20 guided bombs.
