Kakhovka HPP explosion: Ukraine’s Interior Ministry reports at least 5 people killed, 13 missing
At least 5 people died as a result of the flooding of settlements caused by the explosion of the Kakhovka HPP. Another 13 people are missing.
Ihor Klymenko, the head of the headquarters for the elimination of the consequences of the explosion of the Kakhovka HPP, reported this, the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reports.
Thus, 48 settlements in the Kherson region are actually flooded, including: 34 (3,625 houses) - on the territory controlled by Ukraine, 14 - on the temporarily occupied territory.
"2412 people have been evacuated. Four people died. 11 people were injured as a result of shelling during the evacuation. 13 people are missing," the ministry said in a statement.
In the Mykolaiv region, 23 settlements are flooded. 825 people were evacuated. 1 person was killed.
