This is reported by the press service of the Ministry for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories.

Compulsory evacuation of children with their parents, persons in loco parentis or other legal representatives will take place in certain settlements of the Zaporizhzhia region located near the areas of hostilities.

In particular, we are talking about the town of Huliaipole, the urban-type settlement of Stepnohirsk, as well as the villages of Preobrazhenka, Yehorivka, and Novopavlivka. Due to the difficult security situation and hostile shelling, 54 children and 67 family members accompanying the minors will be forcibly evacuated.

In addition, evacuation is planned for people with limited mobility who cannot leave on their own. The regional authorities are providing transportation and accommodation free of charge.

According to Yuriy Malashko, head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, children and their parents will be evacuated to the city of Zaporizhzhia and the Zaporizhzhia district first. According to him, thanks to cooperation with volunteer organizations and international foundations, evacuated families are offered to move to safer areas or even abroad.

Evacuation of children from frontline regions: what is known

In March 2023, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved a mechanism for the forced evacuation of children accompanied by a parent or other legal representative from active hostilities.

On July 10, the authorities of the Sumy region, in consultation with the military, decided to evacuate people from the border areas.

Subsequently, due to constant hostile shelling in the Kharkiv region, families with children were also ordered to evacuate from the Vovchansk community, located near the border with Russia.

On August 5, another 130 children were forcibly evacuated from nine settlements in the Donetsk region located near the areas of hostilities.

On August 10, a mandatory evacuation of civilians from 37 settlements began in Kupyansk district of Kharkiv region

Zaporizhzhia Regional Council Deputy Serhiy Lyshenko said that the procedure for the forced evacuation of children from under fire exists, but there is no political will to take them away from their parents.

On August 12, over 30 children evacuated from Donetsk region by White Angel police crew.

On August 22, Ukrainian defenders from the 47th Detached Mechanized Brigade entered the village of Robotyne, Zaporizhzhia region, and organized the evacuation of all civilians.

Later, Pavlo Kyrylenko, head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration, noted that 89 children remain in the frontline settlements of the Donetsk region and are to be evacuated in the coming weeks.
