Every day in Bakhmut we repel insane number of attacks – former commander of Azov regiment Zhorin
Former commander of the Azov Regiment, Major of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Maksym Zhorin noted that the AFU hold positions in the Bakhmut sector
He said this on the air of the Espreso TV channel.
"Every day we try to hold our positions, repel an insane number of assaults and attacks from the enemy. The Ukrainian Armed Forces are constantly under artillery and air strikes. The situation remains difficult on the left flank, north of Bakhmut. The situation is critical but under control," noted Zhorin.
The ex-commander of the Azov regiment emphasized that the Ukrainian Armed Forces retain the ability to bring supplies to Bakhmut.
"It is possible to get in and out of the city, to deliver ammunition, and to evacuate the wounded from the city. We are fulfilling the order to hold our positions in and around Bakhmut," emphasized Zhorin.

On March 7, the Institute for the Study of War wrote that the continued defense of Bakhmut is important because of the ability to destroy combat-ready Russian units, but the city in Donetsk region is not critical.
