The president of the European Commission said that the EU is serious about putting an end to Russia's avoidance of sanctions.
“And that is why in the 11th sanctions package we have more than 90 companies around the world for which we have clear evidence that they are violating sanctions, that is, supplying sanctioned goods directly to Russia from the European Union, bypassing third countries,” Ursula von der Leyen said.
It is noted that among them are about eight companies located in China, but this does not mean that they must be Chinese companies.
“These are companies that exist partly on paper and have owners who come from other countries. But they are registered in China, and here we will be clear,” the president added.
At the summit in Hiroshima, Japan, the Group of Seven (G7) reaffirmed its commitment to provide financial, humanitarian, military, and diplomatic support to Ukraine.
Canada has expanded the list of anti-Russian sanctions in response to Russia's continuing aggressive war against Ukraine. The restrictions apply to 17 individuals and 18 organizations, relatives of sanctioned persons and members of the Kremlin elite.
The governments of the United States and Japan have imposed new sanctions on hundreds of individuals and organizations associated with Russia's war against Ukraine.
