Defence Express tells about Russia's use of new drones to deplete air defense
Oleg Katkov, military expert and Defence Express editor-in-chief, says that the Russian forces have started using primitively assembled drones
He said this on Espreso TV.
"Once again, there was a report about the destruction of an unidentified type of enemy UAV. There is a photo of the destroyed drone with an engine that can be purchased on AliExpress - it is a gasoline engine for model aircraft. Such a drone can be assembled in any modeling club. We can talk about the enemy's use of primitively assembled drones with minimal costs," Katkov explained.
According to the military expert, such drones were first used by the Russian army in June this year.
"The drones are made of plywood, and a plastic bottle is used for the fuel tank. These UAVs can carry several kilograms of payload. They have no secure control channels. That is, there are maximum savings on everything. The enemy is using these drones to use Shaheds more effectively and deplete our air defense," Katkov emphasized.
