Damaged A-50 aircraft in Belarus will not affect next Russian missile attack - Serhiy Zgurts
On the morning of February 26, two explosions occurred at the Machulishchy military airfield near Minsk, damaging a Russian A-50 reconnaissance plane. However, it is likely that this event will not affect the organization of the next Russian missile strike on the territory of Ukraine
Russians storm Bakhmut from three directions
The enemy continues to try to advance towards Bakhmut from three directions. Since yesterday and throughout the night, we have been trying to get details about the situation in Bakhmut from our units on the northern outskirts of the city. The situation was most difficult in this area during the week. Russian troops crossed the M-03 highway from Bakhmut to Sloviansk and then tried to make their way to the village of Bohdanivka. Yesterday, our units launched a counterattack in the direction of the M-03 highway. During this counterattack, our fighters tried to repel the Russian occupiers, who continue their attempts to advance to the functioning highway from Chasiv Yar to Bakhmut. We can say that the Ukrainian Armed Forces have achieved some success. However, they have not yet succeeded in encircling some of the Russian troops in this area.

According to the latest reports, the enemy has again deployed reserves to Bakhmut and continues to attempt counterattacks on our positions. The situation in the north of the city has improved, but it is still very difficult. As for other parts of the frontline, there are battles in the city's urban area in the east of Bakhmut. In the southwest, the Ukrainian Armed Forces counterattacked to push the enemy back from Ivanivske. This is general information about the fighting for the city of Bakhmut.
Russian army units are trying to surround Bakhmut
Mykola Volokhov, commander of the Terra reconnaissance unit, said that the situation near Bakhmut has not changed dramatically. Heavy fighting for the city has been going on for several months. The enemy continues to try to capture the city using various tactical maneuvers. Volokhov emphasized that one of the last tactical ideas of the Russian soldiers was to surround Bakhmut, cutting off Ukrainian units from logistics routes. However, not a single attempt to encircle the city was successful.
Mykola Volokhov also emphasized that the enemy is constantly trying to improve its tactics and material support to counter AFU’s drones. Ukrainian drones are a big problem for Russian interventionists. According to Volokhov, there have been cases when the enemy, having received better means of fighting drones, had local success. However, Ukrainian units quickly adapted to the occupier's new tactics. The enemy continues to create problems for Ukrainian reconnaissance units, but not significant for the front line.
Russian Air Force A-50 monitors targets in Ukraine for missile attacks
Valeriy Romanenko, a military aviation expert, said that with the help of the A-50 long-range radar detection aircraft, Russia is able to monitor the territory of Ukraine from 200 to 600 km. The A-50 can monitor the work of the Ukrainian Air Force. According to the expert, this aircraft is used by Russia to conduct reconnaissance and provide information on targets for Russian fighters and strike aircraft. In addition, after the launch of cruise missiles, it is the A-50 that monitors their flight. The expert emphasized that such aircraft create many problems for the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Valeriy Romanenko suggested that the Russian possible missile strike was not thwarted because of the damaged A-50 aircraft at the military airfield in Machulishchy. According to him, the kamikaze drones that Russia used to attack Ukraine on February 26 were launched from the occupied territories in the East. In particular, from the coast of the Azov Sea. That is, the damage to the A-50 aircraft, which was located in Belarus, will not affect the course of Russia's future missile attacks.
Ukraine has no means to counter A-50 aircraft
According to Valeriy Romanenko, Ukraine does not have the means to fight Russian A-50 aircraft. This aircraft is not sensitive to radar interference, and we do not have missiles that could destroy the A-50. The expert also noted that Ukraine should develop measures to neutralize such aircraft of the Russian army. Romanenko is convinced that in a week another A-50 will be deployed to Belarus to replace the damaged one. However, Ukraine is not allowed to strike on the territory of Belarus, and therefore it is likely that Belarusian partisans will try to damage the other A-50. As for the location of the A-50s in Russia, the expert believes that they still remain an unattainable target for the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Given the available forces and means, Ukraine can neutralize the A-50 if it is located in the occupied Crimea.
