500 eliminated every day: Defense Minister Reznikov on Russian losses near Bakhmut
Russian troops have launched their "great offensive" in Donbas, with 500 soldiers killed every day
Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov shared the information in an interview with La Repubblica.
"In fact, it is already underway. We call it a 'creeping offensive' because they are using crazy tactics: they are sending waves of Wagner mercenaries or former prisoners of war against us to gain a few meters of ground. For example, in Bakhmut. Twenty of them attack our positions, and we kill them. After a while, another twenty come, and another twenty, in a continuous cycle. Our general on the eastern front said that Russia has 500 killed and 900 wounded in a day," he said.
The minister also emphasized that Bakhmut is a stronghold.
"Bakhmut is a stronghold, a point on the front line that we are defending in order to reduce the enemy's ability to attack by destroying it," Reznikov added.
