Civil war in Russia doesn't stop, confrontation continues – political expert Tsybulko
Political expert Volodymyr Tsybulko believes that the civil war in Russia has never stopped, and at various turns of history it has even escalated
He said this on Espreso TV.
“The civil war in Russia never stopped. After 1991, it manifested itself in various forms. Firstly, the war in Ichkeria, secondly, a more subdued war in Dagestan, there was armed resistance in Bashkortostan and guerrilla actions in Primorye. There is a quiet displacement of the Russian population from Tuva and Buryatia, from the North Caucasus, particularly from Dagestan. Therefore, the war in Russia does not stop,” said Tsybulko.
The political expert summarized that this year, more than 50 wood and oil refineries were burned down in Russia, explosions occurred at gas and oil pipelines, and 72 military enlistment offices were set on fire.
“This means that no matter how much the surface is stretched by Russian TV, there is a big, creeping war inside this society, an unhealed confrontation that Putinism has swept under the rug. The confrontation continues, and it intensifies or diminishes at different turns of history,” the expert emphasized.
Regarding the information about the Russian Volunteer Corps, which is fighting on the side of Ukraine, being stationed in Belgorod, Tsybulko added: “Moscow is well aware that among the population of these regions (Russian border regions near Ukraine - ed.), many people will welcome the arrival of Ukrainian troops. This attack is a big signal to the forces inside Russia. Today or tomorrow we are waiting for the neighborhoods of some gunpowder factories or oil refineries to catch fire in parallel. Ukraine is becoming a platform for the liberation of Russia itself by the hands of Russians. Ukrainian troops do not have to enter the territory of the Russian Federation, but if there is an operational need, why not?”
As a reminder, the governor of the Belgorod region, Vyacheslav Gladkov, said that the region had been under fire from the Ukrainian army since the morning of May 22.
