China's special envoy Li Hui is in Ukraine with ‘peace mission’
China's Special Representative on Eurasian Affairs Li Hui arrived in Ukraine on Wednesday, May 17

According to the agency, Li Hui, who was sent by Beijing to discuss a 'political settlement' in Ukraine, is already in Kyiv.
One of the Ukrainian officials, speaking on condition of anonymity, told AFP that Li Hui is scheduled to meet with Volodymyr Zelenskyy in the evening. This will be the first meeting between the Ukrainian president and a senior Chinese official since the start of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
Li Hui is expected to propose a plan for a 'political settlement' of the war between Russia and Ukraine.
During the European tour, the Chinese special envoy will also visit Poland, France, Germany, and Russia.

On May 12, it became known that China's Special Representative on Eurasian Affairs, Li Hui, would visit Ukraine, Russia, Poland, France, and Germany starting May 15. The purpose of the visits is to find ways to end the war.
