Canada's Defense Minister visits Kyiv’s suburb of Irpin
Canadian Defense Minister Anita Anand visited Irpin, Kyiv region, which was ravaged by Russian forces. She emphasized that Russia must be held accountable for its war crimes

The minister announced this on Twitter.
"In Irpin, I saw evidence of Russia’s horrific attacks on Ukraine. Homes have been reduced to rubble. Burnt-out cars once owned by families now lie in twisted stacks. We saw holes in the ground where buildings once stood. Russia must – and will – face consequences for its crimes," she wrote.

On January 18, Canada said it would provide Ukraine with 200 Senator armored personnel carriers manufactured by Roshel. The cost of the weapons is more than $90 million.

Earlier, Anita Anand reported that Canada would purchase NASAMS air defense systems for Ukraine.
