Breaking through Russia’s defense and advancing — Ukrainian soldier on situation near Bakhmut
Oleksiy Tarasenko, deputy commander of the battalion of the 5th separate assault brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, says that the number of small arms engagements in the Bakhmut direction has been minimized
He shared the information on Espreso TV.
"On the western, southern and southwestern outskirts of Bakhmut, the Ukrainian Armed Forces are trying to break through the enemy's defense and advance, finding weaknesses in the enemy's defense. We are witnessing a standard situation with intense artillery shelling from the enemy. The defense forces are conducting aerial reconnaissance, detecting enemy movements and inflicting fire on the invaders," emphasized Tarasenko.
According to the 5th Brigade's deputy commander, the number of small arms engagements in the Bakhmut direction was minimized.
"Mostly artillery battles are taking place. We observe the accumulation of occupiers’ forces both in the city and in the neighboring villages. The enemy is likely to counterattack. Or they are trying to create a reserve to respond to the advance of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Bakhmut direction," noted Tarasenko.
