Belarus withdraws 12 Russian helicopters from border with Ukraine - Belarusian Hajun project
On February 5, Belarus withdrew 12 helicopters with the Russian Aerospace Forces from the Ukrainian border, relocating them to Machulishchy airfield.
The Belaruski Hajun monitoring project reported on the situation.
"On January 19, the occupiers moved a group of 11 Russian VKS helicopters from Machulishchy to Luninets. Now all of them have returned back, much further from the border with Ukraine," the report says.
On January 8, Belarus’ Ministry of Defense announced joint tactical flight exercises with Russia lasting from January 16 to February 1. All airfields and training grounds of the Belarusian Air Force and Air Defense Forces were involved in the exercises.
On January 13, Ukraine’s State Security Major General Viktor Yahun said that Russia could build an airfield in Belarus to land strategic bomber aircraft. "There is information about the modernization of the airfield for strategic aviation," he said.
