Ukrainian military speaks on easing of Russian army activity in Horlivka sector
Yevhen Ievliev, a Ukrainian Armed Forces serviceman from the Horlivka direction, believes that it is impossible to talk about any Russian initiative because they are moving their ammunition and personnel to other areas where they have weaknesses
He spoke about this on Espreso TV.
"For about a week and a half, the density of shelling has decreased. There was some activation of the Russian army after the success of Ukrainian troops near Klishchiivka, Kurdiumivka and Andriivka, but these active actions lasted for 3-4 days. Perhaps this is due to the fact that the Russian army needs more ammunition or personnel in other areas. And now the situation is not very active on the part of the Russian military, which allows Ukraine to do some tricks. I can't really tell you about it yet, but tactically and positionally, there are even some positive changes in the area controlled by the Ukrainian unit," said the serviceman.
According to him, any changes at the front are dynamic. However, the fact that the Russian troops have stalled a bit makes it possible to detect more and fly drones even further, looking into Russia's rear.
"Not so long ago, we managed to make a record-breaking flight over 9 km with an FPV drone. Back in June, we began to actively use these drones, but the Russian troops pulled their equipment back about 5 kilometers. Today, we can fly 8-9 km without a transponder, but we can't do this work under active fire. When mortars and self-propelled artillery systems are firing, you can't raise your head, let alone take out the Mavic," Yevhen Ievliev said.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces fighter believes that the decline in Russian troops' activity means that they are moving to a format in which they are forced to "put out fires" and consolidate where they are weak. That is, we cannot talk about any Russian offensive initiative. Rather, the Russian military needs more ammunition in areas where it is losing ground.
"Russia has a positive situation only in terms of human resources, but not with those who know how to fight. You can see how they are trying to make a huge media story out of every movement of those Wagner fighters to sell motivation to their troops. They are already resorting to all methods, which indicates that they do not have a good situation on the front line. And in our direction, the Russian troops have slightly reduced their activity, because they apparently do not consider it promising for an offensive, so they are transferring ammunition and personnel to other areas," Ievliev summarized.
