President Zelenskyy emphasized the "red lines" in the peace plan to end the war. The President warned Donald Trump that the Ukrainian government will not consider any peace plan that involves giving up its territories.
"So (if) the idea is how to take the part of our territory and to give Putin, that is not the peace formula," Zelenskyy said after his speech at the UN General Assembly.
In May 2023, former US President Donald Trump called the attack on Ukraine Putin's mistake. However, he refused to call the Russian dictator a war criminal, saying that this could harm negotiations with Russia.
Trump also called for a reduction in arms supplies to Ukraine. White House National Security Council Coordinator John Kirby reacted to the Trump's statements. According to him, the former president's comments on the expediency of supporting Ukraine did not affect the policy of the United States and its partner countries.
At the same time, he claimed that he would be able to end Russia's war against Ukraine if he returned to the presidency in 2024 and could force Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to sign a peace deal with Russian President Vladimir Putin within 24 hours after he comes back to the Oval Office.
Also, Trump said that Ukraine should cede part of its temporarily occupied territories to Russia and keep what it had "earned" to end the war.
