Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Estonian President Alar Karis discussed the creation of joint defense production facilities during a meeting in Kyiv on June 2
Zelenskyy announced this on social media.
Other subjects of conversation included the Ukrainian army's needs and the strengthening of sanctions against Russia.
“Today we discussed what can bring our victory closer and guarantee a just and lasting peace for Ukraine and our entire Europe. We can definitely prepare more of our powerful steps at the front together. I conveyed specific urgent needs for our army to increase its defense and offensive capabilities. We also discussed the need to strengthen sanctions against Russia. Of course, we discussed in detail the international events that are planned for this year, the decisions that are being prepared. In particular, the NATO summit in Vilnius, which we have to approach with a specific package of prepared decisions. We discussed our relations with the European Union and the decisions on our integration that need to be made. We talked in detail about the possibility of creating joint defense production in Ukraine,” Zelenskyy said.
“We also focused on deepening the interaction of business circles and discussed the issue of risk insurance for entrepreneurs,” he added.
Earlier, Zelenskyy announced the arrival of his Estonian counterpart in Kyiv.
“I welcome Estonian President Alar Karis to Kyiv. Estonia is among those whose assistance to our defense is the fastest and largest, if we look at the ratio of aid to the country's GDP. Thank you for all the support!” he wrote.
