WSJ report on Ukrainian counteroffensive in 2024 tied to US election – Defense Express expert
The issue of security assistance to Ukraine will remain relevant to influence not only US domestic policy, but also the entire configuration of the security situation in the world
Valerii Riabykh, Development Director of Defense Express, an information and consulting company, shared his opinions on Espreso TV.
He commented on the publication by the Wall Street Journal that Western countries have begun to think about Ukraine’s counteroffensive, which could begin in the spring of 2024.
"Of course, one of the subjects of influence is our information space. If we're talking about American media, it's more aimed at voters. This may be an indication of the start of an active election campaign in the United States soon. Everyone is preparing to give it a strong start in just a few weeks," Riabykh said.
The expert added that Ukraine is one of the important elements of this campaign, but not the decisive one.
"This may also be dictated by the recognition that the issue of assistance to Ukraine will need to be resolved. It will remain relevant enough to influence not only the US domestic policy but also the entire configuration of the security situation in the world," he concluded.
