Biden's withdrawal shows Democrats’ unconventional approach — Ukrainian diplomat
Andriy Veselovskyi, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary and adviser to the director of the National Institute for Strategic Studies, noted that Biden's withdrawal will impact Democratic support in the upcoming US elections

He made these comments on Espreso TV.
"Biden's withdrawal was met with some relief. It was hard to watch the differing physical capabilities of the two contenders. There was a sense of pity for the Democratic representative. Physical frailty impacts all actions. A person feeling weak is less likely to think, speak, or act as they would if fully healthy," Veselovskyi remarked.
He believes that by taking this risky step, the Democratic Party has shown it can make unconventional decisions.
"This may significantly affect support for the next candidate. Kamala Harris is being considered. She hasn't been confirmed by the Democratic convention yet, but she is likely the choice," Veselovskyi predicted.
- On July 21, US President Joe Biden officially withdrew from the 2024 presidential race. World leaders and diplomats thanked him and called his decision wise.
