Ukraine invites Georgian President Zourabichvili to Kyiv for 4th Crimean Platform summit
Ukraine invited Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili to Kyiv for the 4th Crimean Platform summit on September 11
Ekho Kavkaza reports.
The outlet noted that if the visit occurs, it would mark the first time a Georgian leader has visited Ukraine since Russia's full-scale invasion.
Earlier in 2023, Zourabichvili planned a working visit to Ukraine but did not receive approval from the Georgian government.
She later explained that she had not visited Ukraine due to the lack of an invitation from President Zelenskyy.
Although Zourabichvili was not physically present in Kyiv, she participated in last year's Crimean Platform summit via video and attended this year's Global Peace Summit in Switzerland, where she met with Zelenskyy.
Ukraine also invited the leadership of the Georgian Parliament to participate in the Crimean Platform Parliamentary Summit, scheduled for October in Riga. Last year, the event was attended by Vice Speaker Archil Talakvadze, head of the Georgia-Ukraine Inter Parliamentary Friendship Group.
