Trump may appoint Elon Musk to government position - diplomat Chaly
Ambassador Valeriy Chaly believes Donald Trump may appoint Elon Musk to a government position and promote his political career
He shared his opinions with Espreso TV.
"Many things will change six months to a year after Donald Trump's inauguration. We might see a new Trump administration team, including a different Secretary of State after January 20, a new Secretary of Defense, a new intelligence chief, and so on. I believe we will see entirely different people. Sooner or later, Trump will appoint people close to him. It’s quite possible that Elon Musk could become part of his team. I wouldn’t rule out Trump appointing him to a government position - perhaps even as a special presidential envoy, or something more. So, after the inauguration, we can expect some rather unexpected staffing decisions from Trump," Chaly explained.
The diplomat emphasized the need to strengthen Ukraine’s cooperation with the United States, highlighting that the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry should play a more active role in U.S.-focused efforts.
“We need to completely change the way we work with the United States. Because the system we have now is unlikely to produce results in the future. I mean, the president and several other managers work with the U.S. I just want to add that the meeting between Zelenskyy and Trump was very timely. They were able to discuss important issues face to face,” he added.
