He made the statement during a meeting with Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre in Bergen, Norway, as reported on the UK government’s website.
Starmer stressed the importance of sanctions and cracking down on Russia's shadow fleet to cut off funding for its military.
The UK and Norway reaffirmed their strong support for Ukraine through the Joint Expeditionary Force (JEF), a group of key partners. The leaders also discussed the importance of collective security in the North Atlantic, Nordic, and Baltic regions.
The two sides agreed on the need to adapt to emerging threats, especially in cyberspace, and pledged to work closely with NATO allies on defense and security.
- At the G20 summit in Rio, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer gave his clearest signal yet that Ukraine could soon receive approval to use Britain’s Storm Shadow missiles to strike deep into Russia.
