This is according to a bill published on November 4, Reuters reports.
Since Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022, Poland has become NATO’s largest defense spender relative to its economy, with the 2025 budget allocating 4.7% of gross domestic product for the purpose.
The bill aims to secure funding to increase ammunition production, especially for large-caliber weapons, to strengthen the Polish military.
The government plans to adopt the bill by the end of the year.
- General Wiesław Kukuła, Chief of the General Staff of the Polish Armed Forces, said that the country needs to strengthen its army.
