Georgian PM criticizes President Zourabichvili's Kyiv visit and ties with Zelenskyy
Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze criticized President Salome Zourabichvili’s invitation to the Crimean Platform summit in Kyiv, accusing her of showing special favoritism toward Zelenskyy
Ekho Kavkaza reports it.
Prime Minister Kobakhidze expressed that President Zourabichvili had urged the Georgian government to open a second front against Russia.
Georgian Dream party firmly believes that Ukrainian politicians, Georgian opposition members, and Western representatives pressured Georgia to take this step.
Discussing Zourabichvili's invitation to the Crimean Platform summit, Kobakhidze accused her of aligning "with certain high-ranking Ukrainian officials."
"I want to remind everyone of our meeting with Shalva Papuashvili and Salome Zourabichvili. It was just a few days after the war began, and Zourabichvili opened the discussion with, 'Look, Zelenskyy is a hero, while you (just sit here - ed.)' It's clear what Zourabichvili was pushing us to do. So, her cozy relations with certain Ukrainian officials don't surprise me at all. She openly called for us to open a second front," Kobakhidze stated.
When addressing Ukraine-Georgia relations, Kobakhidze reiterated that Mykhailo Podolyak, advisor to Ukraine's presidential office, and former Secretary of Ukraine's National Security Council Oleksiy Danilov also advocated for Georgia to open a second front.
"Regarding our stance on Ukraine’s leadership, we will maintain a one-sided friendship because that is what the Ukrainian people need from us," Kobakhidze added.
- Ukrainian Chargé d'Affaires in Georgia, Mykhailo Kharyshyn, confirmed that the Ukrainian side invited Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili to Kyiv for the 4th Crimean Platform summit, scheduled for September 11.
