China is slowly digesting Russia, says Russian opposition politician
China is using Russia as a food resource and as a "torpedo" in its confrontation with the West
Russian opposition politician, former State Duma deputy, journalist, and sociologist Igor Yakovenko shared his opinions in an interview with the Studio West program host Anton Borkovskyi on Espreso TV.
“There is an ongoing process of China digesting Russia. This doesn’t mean that Russia is becoming part of Chinese civilization. You see, a rabbit being eaten by a boa constrictor doesn’t become the boa — it simply ceases to be a rabbit. That’s what’s happening: China is digesting Russia. It’s like external digestion in spiders. And this process is underway — China is undoubtedly using Russia. Of course, Russia has nothing to do with Chinese civilization. It always has been, is, and will remain the deep backwater of European civilization, as long as Russia exists within its current borders,” the Russian opposition figure noted.
According to him, China is exploiting Russia to the fullest — both as a “torpedo” in its confrontation with the West and as a food resource. In the global food chain, China occupies a position above Russia, which sits on a lower rung.
“However, the Kremlin is also using Beijing as a resource, since China is objectively an ally of Putin in the war against Ukraine, primarily through its proxies — North Korea. Of course, if China wanted to end the war, it would start by forbidding Kim Jong Un from helping Putin. But that’s not happening. China is clearly just using Putin as a food resource and as a ‘torpedo’ in its confrontation with the West,” Yakovenko emphasized.
