Trump’s latest statements on Ukraine signal helplessness
This means one thing: the United States will continue to try to distance itself from Russia's war against Ukraine
And Putin will continue striking Ukrainian cities with ballistic missiles because he cannot achieve anything significant on the front line (he might still be able to throw his cannon fodder into battle for another six months to a year, but that will be meat-grinding, not military operations). By killing Ukrainians - who are defenseless against ballistic missiles due to the lack of missile defense systems - Putin achieves global resonance and puts psychological pressure on Ukrainian citizens, society, leadership, as well as on Trump, Witkoff, and others.
"In essence, by killing Ukrainians, Putin will try to prove that he is winning against Ukraine - since occupying another village in Donbas does not impress the White House."
In this situation, a positive scenario for us is progress in U.S. negotiations with Iran, which could lead to further oil price drops (ultimately exhausting Putin amid the global economic crisis that is beginning to unfold). For us, nothing changes: the maximum strengthening of Ukraine’s Defense Forces and defense industry (development of air defense systems should be a priority). Europe will play a central role in supporting Ukraine.
In fact, this is not the worst outcome (at least, without the disgrace of "reconciliation" with scoundrels and the disgrace of a colonial deal with Trumpists).
P.S. By the way, under these conditions, an attack on the Crimean Bridge would be the most positive event for everyone (especially for Trump), except for Putin.
