Trump sets record for lowest 100-day approval rating among U.S. presidents - professor
Ihor Aizenberg, a professor at Manhattan University, noted that the American public’s assessment of Donald Trump’s actions during his first 100 days as U.S. president is very negative
He shared the information on Espreso TV.
"If you look at the polls over the past week — and there have been many due to Trump's first 100 days, as it's a tradition in the U.S. to assess the president's performance — the voters' evaluation is very negative. Trump’s approval rating across different polls ranges from 40% to 44%.
Let me remind you that 49.8% of Americans voted for him. Support for Trump’s policies regarding Ukraine and the Russian-Ukrainian war is no higher than 40%. Support for his economic policies is below 40%. Regarding tariffs and inflation, it’s just over 30%. Even Fox News, which is completely pro-Trump, conducted its own polls, and the figures were almost identical," commented Ihor Aizenberg.
According to him, the public's reaction to what Trump has done in his first 100 days is very negative. Two nationwide protests have already taken place, involving millions of people, and this will continue.
"Trump is generally very dependent on how people perceive him. For example, regarding this Fox News poll, he even posted a tweet on his social network demanding that Rupert Murdoch, who owns Fox, shut down the polling service and order The Wall Street Journal to stop portraying China in a better light than him.
In other words, Trump cares a lot about what is written about him. I should note that public opinion about Trump is very negative. He has the lowest approval rating in U.S. presidential history for the first 100 days. Although, during his first presidency, his own rating after 100 days was slightly lower," noted the professor at Manhattan University.
- Earlier, Axios reported that President Donald Trump declared a record number of emergencies in his first 100 days, more than any other modern-day president in U.S. history.
