He stated this in an interview with RND.

"It seems that Trump does not take the crimes committed by Putin in Ukraine very seriously. We must not allow Trump to rewrite history in pursuit of a quick deal," Tsahkna stated.

According to him, the U.S. does not view Russia as an "aggressive violator," but it has a much more consolidated position compared to last month.

"We must pressure Russia economically and through sanctions so that Moscow does not have a better position in negotiations. If Russia and then the U.S. want to talk about Europe and Ukraine, it is impossible to make decisions without our consent," the minister added.

  • Ukrainian analyst and journalist Vitaly Portnikov says that the desires of Donald Trump, Vladimir Putin, and Xi Jinping may not align, but they all want a return to the past.
