Russia shows no interest in negotiations — European Commission spokesperson
With the recent attack on Kryvyi Rih, as well as shelling other peaceful Ukrainian cities, Russia demonstrates disrespect towards peaceful negotiations and a lack of interest in them
European Commission spokesperson Anitta Hipper said this during a briefing in Brussels on April 7, reports European Pravda.
“When it comes to the actions Russia shows daily, including recent attacks that killed at least 20 civilians, including 9 children, Russia demonstrates complete disrespect for negotiations. Every day it shows that it has no interest in them,” said Hipper.
She added that it is indeed “very important to secure a ceasefire in order to have a lasting and comprehensive peace.”
“But we cannot be naive when dealing with Putin and when we see his bloody attacks daily,” emphasized the European Commission spokesperson.
At the same time, Europe considers negotiations important.
“But the result of these peace negotiations must be a stronger Ukraine, because Putin does not respect weakness. We must put Ukraine in a position of strength. That’s why we’ve committed to increasing our defense support and capabilities in this direction,” said Hipper.
- On April 4, the Russian forces launched a missile strike on Kryvyi Rih, resulting in the deaths of 20 civilians, including 9 children.
