Zbigniew Bogucki, Chief of Staff to President Karol Nawrocki, has dismissed reports claiming that the presidential veto of the law on aid to Ukrainians would deprive the war-torn country of funding for Starlink access

He wrote about this on his X social media page.

"Mr. Deputy Prime Minister, you should fight manipulation and disinformation online, not create it," Bogucki addressed Krzysztof Gawkowski.

He emphasized that Poland does not intend to turn off Starlink's operation in Ukraine. According to him, the functioning of these systems is financed on the basis of current legislation, and the project that the president submitted to the Sejm maintains this status quo.

"It is enough to effectively pass this presidential initiative in the Polish parliament in September. A similar situation applies to supporting the storage of Ukrainian administration data in a safe place," he noted.

Statement by Polish Deputy Prime Minister Gawkowski

Polish Deputy Prime Minister Krzysztof Gawkowski stated that the presidential veto on the law on aid to Ukrainians deprives the country in a state of war of funding for access to Starlink.

"Karol Nawrocki with his decision is cutting off the internet in Ukraine, because this is essentially his decision regarding the law on aid to Ukrainian citizens. This is the end of the Starlink internet that Poland supplies to Ukraine, which is at war. This is also the end of support for storing Ukrainian administration data in a safe place," he wrote.

"I cannot imagine a better gift for Putin's forces than cutting Ukraine off from the internet," Gawkowski added.

He emphasized that President Nawrocki's actions harm people who are fighting for their independence, and at the same time help Russia.

The politician called this decision "betrayal of a neighbor."

  • President Karol Nawrocki vetoed the law on aid to unemployed Ukrainian refugees in Poland.
