Intercontinental "kisses" between Trump, Putin to be short-lived
Vladimir Putin recently said that Trump will make all Europeans submit to him. It now seems that only Vladimir Putin has found himself in that position
Journalist Roman Tsymbaliuk shared his opinions on Espreso TV.
"Intercontinental 'kisses' between Trump and Putin won't last long because the interests of the states will prevail. The process of preparing for the freezing of the conflict has echoes in Russian disinformation media. The question is the conditions. Our task in this situation is to ensure the presence of Western armies at the invitation of the Ukrainian government. We need guarantees of financial and military support from the United States," he noted.
One should not write off Donald Trump, regardless of what is said and how the votes go in the United Nations, says Tsymbaliuk.
"If this happens, Ukraine will end the war within Western society. It won't be formalized as joining an organization, but the fact remains. It will mean that this is Russia's last war against Ukraine. When Trump returned to the White House, he already said that he could act differently. One should not curse the American president, although they say that metals are better than values. I think it's better to have both metals and values. Trump wants to stop the war. We'll see how he manages, but until that happens, we need to support the Ukrainian Armed Forces that are fighting Russian soldiers," he added.
Russians do not want Western forces to be present in Ukraine because these are real guarantees. They want to freeze the conflict and look for opportunities for a new attack, the journalist noted: "If Western armies and planes are here, it will be the end for Putin."
- U.S. President Donald Trump announced that the United States will continue sanctions against Russia for another year: the document will come into effect on Friday, February 28.
