Greenland dispute gives Ukraine upper hand in peace talks — analyst
The Greenland situation has strengthened Ukraine's position in peace talks. European leaders will now find it harder to justify territorial concessions, since making similar concessions in their own interest would look hypocritical
ICTV international commentator Volodymyr Runets stated this on Espreso TV.
"The situation with Greenland has actually played into Ukraine's hands, because now Europeans will simply be embarrassed to say that in order to achieve peace, some territories must be conceded. Now we can ask them: why don't you give up Greenland for the sake of good relations with Trump? Maybe Trump will want something else - let's give everything to everyone then, if a bad peace is better than a good war," Runets emphasized.
The ICTV international commentator added that European partners already understand that the issue of territorial integrity, sovereignty, and world order is not just lofty rhetoric.
"These are things we must all genuinely defend, uphold, and fight for," Runets stressed.
