Trump, Zelenskyy meet in Davos to discuss Russia-Ukraine war
On Thursday, January 22, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived in Davos, Switzerland, where he met with his American counterpart Donald Trump
Ukrainian presidential press secretary Serhii Nykyforov reported the information.
According to him, the meeting between the leaders of the United States and Ukraine began at 2:30 p.m.
About 50 minutes later, the meeting between Zelenskyy and Trump concluded. Nykyforov added that at the end, the leaders spoke briefly tête-à-tête.
Ukrainian presidential advisor Dmytro Lytvyn called the meeting good.
No joint press availability with the presidents was scheduled.
Donald Trump called the meeting very good and noted that his message to Vladimir Putin is that this war must end. The U.S. President also recalled that his representatives Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner will soon meet with the Kremlin leader in Moscow.
After the meeting with Trump, the Ukrainian president delivered a speech from the stage of the annual World Economic Forum in Davos.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy also noted that he discussed strengthening Ukrainian air defense with Trump, specifically requesting an additional package of missiles.
