Diplomat explains what verbal clash between Trump, Medvedev signals
The exchange of sharp posts between Trump and Medvedev is Russia preparing its population for declaring a “patriotic war” if needed
This opinion was expressed by diplomat Roman Bezsmertnyi on Espreso TV.
“In my view, the back-and-forth between Trump and Medvedev shows, first of all, that Trump has no intention of taking serious action. Secondly, on Russia’s side, this exchange is aimed at preparing its own population for the possible announcement of what they call a ‘patriotic war.’ This is clearly reflected in recent statements, including those by [Foreign Minister] Lavrov, who claimed that Russia is waging the war on its own,” Bezsmertnyi commented.
According to him, there’s also been a whole stream of statements from Putin’s circle suggesting that Russia must close itself off and fight the war alone.
“Everyone understands perfectly well that Russia today is incapable of waging a large-scale war without support from North Korea, China, and Iran. But this rhetoric shows that tension is growing inside Russia,” he added.
“I can’t understand what reasoning led Donald Trump to engage in this spat with Medvedev. In my opinion, it’s completely senseless — but it also signals that Trump likely isn’t preparing for any serious action. European analysts can’t explain the verbal exchange either. They say there must be some irritant that’s deeply agitating Trump when it comes to Putin. And I believe I can name it,” the diplomat continued.
In his view, Trump may finally be realizing — or being informed — that the whole Epstein file story was actually part of a recruitment operation targeting him and certain American politicians.
“This recruitment effort was carried out through Czech intelligence. Figures like Robert McConnell and Ivana Zelníčková, Trump’s first wife, were among those used to carry it out. It’s clear that this web of connections is deeply unsettling to Trump, which explains his irritation and decision to engage in an argument with Medvedev. But honestly, he shouldn’t have reacted at all. And the fact that Putin is staying silent also suggests that a larger operation is underway — one that is clearly targeting Trump as well. As for Medvedev’s talk of war between Russia and the U.S., everyone understands that Russia is currently incapable of conducting large-scale warfare involving intercontinental strikes and other such components,” Bezsmertnyi concluded.
