'China may bring new value to world order': Sikorski urges Beijing to help end Russia’s war on Ukraine

Warsaw believes that Beijing has the means to put an end to Russia’s military actions in Ukraine.

“We believe that China could bring new value to the world order if—and it has the means to do so—it puts an end to Vladimir Putin’s colonial war in Ukraine,” Sikorski said.

• On April 8, in the Donetsk region, Ukrainian forces captured two Chinese citizens who were fighting on the side of the Russian army. Volodymyr Zelenskyy instructed the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to contact China, and the United States expressed concern.
• On April 9, the President of Ukraine reported that Ukrainian intelligence has information about at least 155 Chinese citizens participating in combat on the side of Russia.
• On April 10, China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that they were not aware of more than 155 Chinese citizens fighting alongside Russian forces against Ukraine.
