Suspilne writes the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs has denied knowledge of over 155 Chinese citizens allegedly fighting for Russia in Ukraine, as claimed by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. The ministry's spokesperson, Lin Jian, stated during a briefing that he had "nothing to share" on the matter.
China's position on the war, according to Lin, remains "objective and fair," emphasizing that China is neither the creator of the Ukrainian crisis nor a directly interested party. He reiterated Beijing's long-standing advice for Chinese citizens to stay away from conflict zones and refrain from participating in any military actions.
This statement follows Zelenskyy’s remarks on April 9, where he confirmed that Ukrainian intelligence had information about at least 155 Chinese nationals fighting for Russia.
