China addresses reports of Ukraine capturing two Chinese nationals fighting for Russia
China's Foreign Ministry has stated that it is investigating reports regarding two Chinese citizens who were captured while fighting alongside the Russian army against Ukraine

He made the remarks during a recent press briefing.
"The Chinese side is verifying the relevant information with the Ukrainian side," Lin said, adding: "The Chinese government has consistently advised its citizens to stay away from areas of armed conflict and to avoid involvement in such conflicts in any form."
Background
Ukrainian military forces in the Donetsk region captured two Chinese citizens who were fighting in the Russian army. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy instructed the Foreign Minister to contact Beijing regarding the situation. Meanwhile, the United States called the situation alarming.
The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry also summoned the Chinese Charge d'Affaires in Ukraine.
