Portnikov: Trump’s call with Putin sets stage for two likely scenarios
He said this after the Russian attack on Ukraine on April 24, as reported by BFMTV.
Macron declared that the aggressor is Russia, so "America's anger should be directed at only one person: President Putin."
He also stressed that France's position is firm and will not change: it supports the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, respecting international law.
"We will continue to defend the right of the Ukrainian people to live in peace on their territory and within their internationally recognized borders," Macron added.
At the same time, the French leader called on Putin to stop lying.
"He says 'I want peace' and continues to bomb and kill people in Ukraine. If tomorrow he says 'yes,' we will have a ceasefire," he added.
