What about US aid? Has everyone abandoned us? Are we all going to die?

Such is the mood around here. Either it's the winter depression or Russian propaganda has started to work very effectively. Or all together against the background of fatigue

But no. No one abandoned anyone.

You are invited to play football. And you say that you will go out when you do your homework. But you can't do your homework because you need your older brother's help. And he says he will do it if you clean his room. And you stay home for longer.

Does that mean you won't go out and play football? Does that mean you don't like playing football with the boys? No, it doesn't. It means that you want to, but you're late. You will just come later.

It's the same now with the aid to Ukraine. There are no questions about the aid itself. But there is a linkage between voting for aid to Ukraine and Israel and the issue of the border with Mexico. And this issue, which is deeply internal to the United States, is the main problem. The Republicans and Democrats have been unable to reach an agreement.

Because the Republicans would shoot everyone on the border. And the Democrats stand for love, peace, and generally do not want to admit that they have stumbled and allowed this crisis to happen.

And trade is going on. We can't influence it in any way. Even if you send ten groups of MPs. We hear many statements that Ukraine is on the brink and will soon run out of weapons. These statements are aimed at Democrats and Republicans, so that they can make a decision as soon as possible. But there is nothing you can do. Because it's like coming to visit when a man is arguing with his wife passionately. And you're afraid to even ask permission to go to the bathroom. You want to, but you're scared. And you realize that you shouldn't get involved in this argument. Because they'll come to an agreement later and make up passionately, but you, if you take sides, will be an enemy of the state.

Does this mean that the US is ready to abandon Ukraine? Of course not. Does this mean that there is some terrible secret plan to force Ukraine to peace by delaying aid? Of course, that's nonsense, because there are objective reasons for this delay, and only a very delusional conspiracy theorist can think that the key dispute over the border with Mexico is organized specifically to influence the Ukrainian government.

We are at a moment of emotional abyss. Several factors have coincided that have a very short-term effect. This is just the timing. And it is simply inappropriate to get desperate now, when several key decisions for Ukraine are in the process. It will take a week or a month for both the EU and the US to solve their technical problems and vote to help Ukraine. And it would be a great shame if someone, out of desperation, did not wait and hanged themselves out of grief.

And yes, Ukraine has no urgent need to receive funding right now. We have the money and it will be enough for the coming months. Of course, the story with weapons is different. But we still cannot influence the Congress. So we just sit and wait for the Democrats and Republicans to get tired of fighting with each other. And we hope they will do so before the holidays.
