Ukraine, Denmark to launch joint production of weapons
On June 24 in The Hague, Ukraine’s Defense Minister Rustem Umerov signed a document with Danish Defense Minister Troels Lund Poulsen that paves the way for joint production of Ukrainian arms in Denmark
Umerov announced this on Facebook, specifying that the document is a so-called Letter of Intent.
This is the first step within the framework of the Build with Ukraine initiative, which the countries previously agreed on during the Ramstein format meeting.
Denmark has already allocated 500 million kroner to launch this production on its territory.
“All capacities created within the project will work to strengthen the Ukrainian Defense Forces,” Umerov emphasized.
According to him, the project has strategic significance — it enhances defense capabilities, ensures technology exchange, and deepens integration between the defense sectors of both countries.
“This partnership works for the security of Ukraine, Denmark, and all of Europe — today and in the future,” the minister concluded.
- Earlier that day, Umerov announced that Ukraine and the United Kingdom are launching a new mega-project for joint drone production.
- Additionally, the Armed Forces of Ukraine will receive 600,000 domestically produced drones funded by the Netherlands.
