War gradually shifts towards Russia, drone strikes will increase – Ukrainian official
President Zelenskyy's office says the number of UAV strikes on Russia will increase, and recent attacks indicate that the war in Ukraine is gradually spreading to Russia’s territory
Mykhailo Podolyak, advisor to the head of the President’s Office, made the statement to Reuters.
"As for Russia ... there is an increasing number of attacks by unidentified drones launched from the territory of the Russian Federation, and the number of these attacks will increase," Podolyak said.
He also emphasized that there will be no peace talks with Russia in the near future, because any negotiations will mean "surrender" on the part of Ukraine.
"Any negotiation process... it will mean the capitulation of Ukraine and the capitulation of the democratic world on the whole," the adviser added.
British intelligence reported that in August 2023, Russian territory was targeted in 25 unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) attacks, with a majority of the drones successfully reaching their intended targets. This indicates gaps in Russian air defense.
