“We do not trust Putin”: Poland’s Nawrocki says Russia may invade other countries
Polish President Karol Nawrocki believes that Russian leader Vladimir Putin could invade other countries
He made the statements at a joint press conference with Finnish President Alexander Stubb, according to The Guardian.
“We do not trust Vladimir Putin’s good intentions. While waiting, of course, for a long-term peace, permanent peace, which is necessary to our regions, we believe that Vladimir Putin is ready to also invade other countries,” the Polish leader said.
Because of this, he said, Warsaw is strengthening its armed forces and developing partnerships and alliances.
At the same time, Stubb noted that in recent months he has been in regular contact with U.S. President Donald Trump amid Europe’s efforts to help end the war in Ukraine.
“We try to explain that Putin cannot be trusted, that Putin is playing his usual delay tactics,” the Finnish president added.
