Espreso TV has made a selection of positive news that brings the day of victory closer each time.

"We must give Ukraine what they need to win"

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg noted that President Putin is not preparing for peace, but on the contrary – Russia is preparing new attacks, mobilizing new soldiers, sending and transferring more weapons. Therefore, he emphasized that NATO is considering how to improve logistics to speed up supplies to Ukraine. In particular, it is about spare parts for the provided artillery and air defense systems.

"We are doing everything to ensure that Ukraine has what it needs to defend itself. We will be with Ukraine as long as it takes. We will provide everything that Ukraine needs to resist," Stoltenberg assured.

Ukraine can receive Abrams tanks from US warehouses, which will speed up their delivery compared to if they were still being produced. This was stated by Stanley Brown, the Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for the Bureau of Political-Military Affairs.

It was originally planned that the production of tanks would be ordered. However, almost a month after the announcement of the decision to send M1 Abrams tanks to Ukraine, the United States is still deciding whether it is better to withdraw the tanks from existing stocks or order them.

Belgium also provides military assistance to Ukraine. In this country, the Ukrainian military is being trained to operate underwater drones. They will soon be delivered to the Ukrainian Armed Forces. In the first decade of February, a group of Ukrainian soldiers arrived in Belgium for training.

Ukrainian paratroopers repel enemy attacks

Ukrainian paratroopers repelled attacks near Mariinka and targeted two enemy infantry fighting vehicles, the command of the Air Assault Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported. These are paratroopers of the 79th Air Assault Brigade. The enemy recently launched a night assault on the positions of the Maroon Berets from Mykolaiv.

"One of the enemy's BMP-2 infantry fighting vehicles hit a mine and could not continue moving. Our fighters then shot it with a grenade launcher. When another infantry fighting vehicle approached it to evacuate the troops, it was destroyed by a precise shot from a Javelin anti-tank system. After the ammunition detonated, the turret of the combat vehicle was blown off," the statement said. After losing two vehicles along with the troops, the enemy retreated.

In addition, the General Staff reported that the aviation of the Ukrainian Defense Forces carried out 4 strikes on the areas of concentration of personnel and military equipment of the occupiers over the day.

Punishment for Russian occupiers and collaborators

The Security Service of Ukraine exposed a local leader who helped the occupiers advance on Kyiv. The traitor was the head of the Ozero village in the Hostomel community near Kyiv. The Ukrainian Security Service established that on February 24 last year, he guided the occupation troops on the ground and provided road routes for their columns to move through Hostomel and Moshchun. He accompanied the occupiers who stormed the Kyiv region and tried to break through to the capital. The traitor "leaked" the addresses of Ukrainian patriots.

At the same time, a member of the Belarusian special service was sentenced to 10 years in prison for intelligence and subversion. He fought in Ukraine as part of the Russian private military company Redut. After the start of the full-scale invasion, he was tasked with conducting reconnaissance and subversive activities against Ukraine and collecting intelligence on samples of weapons provided by our Western partners. "He was trying to reconnoitre plans for the possible participation of Russian PMCs in attempts to remove the current regime of self-proclaimed President Lukashenko from power," the Ukrainian Security Service explained. The enemy was captured by Ukrainian soldiers during a battle in Donetsk region in September 2022.

There will be light

There has been no power shortage in the energy system for 10 days and it is not expected to occur provided there are no attacks.

“As of February 21, there is no power deficit in Ukraine's power system. It is not expected to happen in the future, provided there are no new attacks,” Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said.

Getting rid of all names and symbols associated with Russia and the USSR

Ukrzaliznytsia announced that by 2025 it plans to fully ‘Ukrainize’ the railroad, getting rid of all names and symbols associated with Russia and the USSR. Over the course of 2023-2025, the company plans to implement a three-year comprehensive program to completely abandon Russian and Soviet names and symbols.

"It will not be free, it will be a difficult, painstaking, titanic work. But the effect of it is definitely worth the price and the effort," the post says. It is also noted that in the course of Ukrainization, they want to change the names of two divisions of Ukrzaliznytsia – "Southern" and "Southwestern" – because they received such names due to their location relative to Moscow. The new names will be put up for voting at the Diia website and app starting from March 1.

Court of Appeal confirms ban on the Party of Regions

Another step towards the destruction of everything pro-Russian in Ukraine. On February 21, the Eighth Administrative Court of Appeal satisfied the claim filed by the Ministry of Justice and the Security Service of Ukraine to ban the pro-Russian Party of Regions.

The court's decision applies to all assets of the banned party and its structural units in various regions of our country. Experts are currently establishing the value of this property.

"Representatives of the Party of Regions actively supported the Kremlin regime and publicly justified the seizure of part of eastern Ukraine even before the full-scale invasion. Some of the members of this political force are currently hiding from justice in Russia. However, employees of the Security Service and the State Bureau of Investigation have documented the criminal actions of the Party of Regions and initiated the transfer of 100% of the party's property to Ukraine’s benefit," the statement said.
