Ukrainian defence forces hit the area where militants of the Akhmat unit were concentrated in a training camp in the temporarily occupied Donetsk. Losses amounted to 56 soldiers.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy, President of Ukraine discussed the situation around the Kakhovka HPP with Prime Minister of Japan Fumio Kishida. Tokyo to allocate about $5 million of assistance.
Zelensky announced the details of the talks on June 9.
"During a telephone conversation with Fumio Kishida, Japanese Prime Minister, I spoke about the catastrophic consequences of Russia's explosion of the Kakhovka HPP, the situation on the front line and another intensification of Russian missile terror against Ukraine. We talked about further security support from Japan, cooperation between our countries and the reconstruction of Ukraine," he wrote.
The politicians also discussed steps to implement the Ukrainian peace formula, the relevance of which, according to Zelenskyy, the destruction of the dam by Russia emphasized.
In turn, Fumio Kishida announced the allocation of funds to overcome the consequences of the Kakhovka HPP explosion. The aid will amount to about $5 million and will be distributed through international organizations.
Scythian gold returns to Ukraine
The Supreme Court of the Netherlands has approved a decision to return to Ukraine gold artifacts from Crimea, known as "Scythian gold," which have been the subject of a legal dispute with Russia for years.

"On June 9, 2023, after almost nine years of litigation, the Supreme Court of the Netherlands fully satisfied the demands of Ukraine, represented by the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy, to return priceless museum exhibits from the exhibition "Crimea - a golden island in the Black Sea," the statement said.
The article notes that the legal battle in the courts of the Kingdom of the Netherlands lasted almost nine years, and Russia spared no resources in its attempts to misappropriate Ukraine's cultural property.

Belgium will supply Ukraine with ammunition worth €32.4 million
It is about 105-millimeter artillery shells, Reuters reports, citing a spokesman for the Belgian Defence Ministry. According to him, the ammunition will be purchased from the Belgian industry and delivered to Ukraine as soon as possible.
"This delivery of 105mm ammunition responds to a direct request from Ukraine and meets its needs on the ground. With this additional support of €32.4 million, the Ministry of Defense has now provided €306 million in lethal and non-lethal military support to Ukraine, including €41 million for fuel."
The United States will provide Ukraine with a new $2 billion aid package
This package, which totals up to $2.1 billion, includes critical air defense equipment and ammunition.

The package includes:
- Additional munitions for Patriot air defense systems;
- HAWK air defense systems and missiles;
- 105mm and 203mm artillery rounds;
- Puma unmanned aerial systems;
- Laser-guided rocket system munitions;
- Support for training, maintenance, and sustainment activities.
Ukrainian aviation carried out 16 strikes against the enemy
Over the past day, the aviation of the defense forces carried out 16 strikes on areas of concentration of personnel and 2 on enemy anti-aircraft missile systems.
Missile and artillery units struck 4 control points, 6 concentration areas of manpower, weapons and military equipment, 3 ammunition depots and 5 enemy artillery units at firing positions over the course of the day.
