Victorious news of 412th day of war: new batch of shells for Ukrainian army, possible air coalition to help Ukraine
New shells from Ukroboronprom, Ukrainian arms manufacturer; Austria is willing to arrest Putin; Ukraine aims to supply more power to Europe
Ukroboronprom supplies a batch of new 122 mm shells to the frontline
The Armed Forces of Ukraine received a batch of artillery shells manufactured by Ukrainian specialists and using Ukrainian technologies. The Ukroboronprom state arms manufacturer has supplied another batch of 122-mm artillery ammunition to the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Ukraine produces these shells jointly with NATO countries at foreign facilities, but using Ukrainian technology and with the involvement of Ukrainian specialists, the company said. A day earlier, they shipped a batch of 125-mm tank shells.
Austria is willing to arrest Putin
If Vladimir Putin enters Austria, he will be arrested. Karoline Edtstadler, Minister for the EU and Constitution in the Austrian government, made the statement in an interview with Tagesspiegel.
"Austria will fulfill its obligations under international and criminal law. I was a criminal judge in my civilian profession, and this international arrest warrant by the ICC (International Criminal Court - ed.) means that if he (Russian leader Vladimir Putin - ed.) enters Austria, the arrest must be made," said Karoline Edtstadler.
At the same time, the minister emphasized that Austria will not provide military aid to Ukraine. However, it will not block the supply of weapons by other European countries either.
Possible air coalition for Ukraine
Denmark, the Netherlands, Belgium and Portugal could establish an aviation coalition and start supplying Ukraine with F-16 fighter jets, Defense Express editor-in-chief Oleh Katkov believes.
"The news from the Danish Defense Minister that the country does not oppose joining a coalition for F-16 aircraft is extremely good," he emphasized.
Katkov added that these are the aircraft that are being decommissioned and replaced with F-35s.
"Their delivery does not represent a significant deterioration in defense capabilities for Denmark. This is extremely important for a donor country to decide on the supply of any weapons. As for potential European candidates for F-16s, Denmark has expressed its readiness, discussions are underway in the Netherlands, there are aircraft in Belgium, which is also replacing them with F-35s, and the Prime Minister of Portugal said in February that the supply of aircraft is not a red line. It is already possible to outline a potential coalition of Denmark, Portugal, the Netherlands and Belgium as donors of F-16s, which can already recruit pilots," he said.
Destroyed Russian drones and electronic warfare stations
On April 11, Ukrainian air defense destroyed an unmanned aerial vehicle of the Russian military over the Kharkiv region.
According to the General Staff, the aviation of the Ukrainian Defense Forces launched 13 strikes on concentrations of Russian personnel and military equipment over the day. They also shot down 2 Russian Orlan-10 UAVs.
During the day, Ukrainian missile and artillery units hit 4 concentrations of Russian manpower, weapons and military equipment, as well as 2 electronic warfare stations.
Ukraine to supply more power to Europe
Ukraine plans to export more power to European countries than last year. Minister of Energy of Ukraine Herman Halushchenko made the announcement.
He reminded that even during the war, Ukraine exported power to European countries until October 11, 2022, when massive Russian attacks on energy infrastructure began.
"And now we have resumed exports. In fact, this is our response to Russia's barbaric attacks, it is proof that the terrorist state has failed in terms of destroying our energy system. And now we hope to reach the export volumes that we had last year. We are planning and will negotiate to increase them as well, because today the reserves in the system allow us to do so," Halushchenko said.
The minister noted that revenues from power exports will help raise additional funds to restore energy facilities that were destroyed or damaged by Russian attacks.
