Ukrainians, Poles will determine the course of Europe's future development
For the first time since the beginning of the invasion, I went abroad for a couple of days. Poland. Olsztyn. Big Forum Campus of the Future. Young people from all over the country come here to talk about how to build a secure future, Mykola Kniazhytskyi writes
Recently, there are many Ukrainian youth here: students studying in Poland, representatives of youth organizations. Our acquaintances from Solidary Youth and young people from the ruling Servants of the People attended the discussion.
We came with my colleague Iryna Herashchenko and were pleasantly surprised that we will perform together with wonderful people.
Jan Krzysztof Bielecki is the former Prime Minister of Poland. He was the first in the world to initiate the recognition of our independence in 1991.
Marcin Bosacki, vice-speaker of the Polish Senate, former journalist and ambassador. The moderator is our old friend, member of the Seimas, historian Pavel Koval.
Do you believe that Ukraine will really become a member of the EU? - the participants asked before the discussion. Is it possible?
The moderator asked the same question.
Maybe everything is now. Both good and bad.
Many people did not believe that Moscow would launch bombs and missiles at Kyiv. But it is possible.
Many did not believe that the young Ukrainian army would stop the Russian army and drive it away from Kyiv.
And who could have thought that the Pope would mention the death due to unexplained circumstances of the Russian propagandist Dugina and be silent about the tortured Ukrainian children? They remained nouns for him.
Once upon a time, another Pope, the Pole Ivan Paul II, who demonstrated to the world what true love and humanism is, said: "Do not be afraid!".
I quoted it to these young people. If we, Ukrainians and Poles, are together and not afraid, then in the EU of the future we will determine the development of Europe together.
