Ukrainian forces virtually destroy Russia’s Storm Z units in Bakhmut sector
Rodion Kudryashov, deputy commander of the 3rd Detached Assault Brigade of the Ukrainian army, said that due to the Storm Z unit’s heavy losses, Russian occupiers are rotating personnel in the Bakhmut sector
He said this on the air of the Espreso TV channel.
"Bakhmut direction. A lot of "elite" branches of the Russian troops are concentrated in the area of responsibility of the 3rd Detached Assault Brigade. In particular, regular Russian troops, the Akhmat unit and the Espanyol unit, which consists of Russian football fans and nationalists. These units replaced the previous ones, including the Storm Z units. The occupiers' Storm Z units have virtually ended in the Bakhmut area. They ended due to the good work of the Ukrainian forces," said Kudryashov.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces major added that the occupying Russian forces are trying to conduct counterattacks, but their actions are ineffective.
"The Russian enemy continues to try to conduct counterattacks and assault operations in our direction. In particular, in the area of Kurdyumivka, Andriivka and Klishchiyivka. Thus, they are trying to improve their tactical position. However, their actions were unsuccessful. Up to one Russian platoon and two of Russia's newest T-90 ‘Breakthrough’ tanks were destroyed," he added.
- On August 17, the General Staff reported that Russian forces in the occupied village of Shevchenkivske, Zaporizhzhia region, had converted the territory of a civilian building into a field hospital. In total, since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the invading Russian forces have lost 256,050 soldiers.
