Russia losses 2 helicopters, 460 soldiers in a day of war in Ukraine

Russia conducts unsuccessful offensives in 4 directions, trying to regain lost ground near Urozhaine and Novodarivka - summary

Over the past day, 33 combat clashes between the Ukrainian Defense Forces and Russian troops took place at the front. This was reported by the General Staff in a morning briefing on August 18.

Near the northern Ukrainian border with Belarus, the operational situation has not changed. 

Russian troops fired mortar and artillery shells at more than 20 localities in Chernihiv, Sumy and Kharkiv regions in the area of northeastern Ukrainian border.

In the Kupyansk direction, Russian forces conducted unsuccessful offensives in the area of Synkivka, Kharkiv region. They carried out air strikes in the areas of Petropavlivka and Kucherivka, Kharkiv region. Localities in Kharkiv and in Luhansk regions were subjected to enemy artillery and mortar attacks.

In the Lyman direction, the invaders carried out unsuccessful offensives near Bilohorivka, Luhansk region. They also carried out air strikes in this area and 3 other settlements in the Donetsk region. About 20 localities of both regions came under artillery fire.

In the Bakhmut direction, the invading forces conducted unsuccessful offensives in the areas of Bohdanivka and Bila Hora, Donetsk region. They carried out air strikes in the area of Vasyukivka, Donetsk region. More than 20 localities of the region suffered from enemy artillery shelling.

In the Avdiivka direction, the Russian army conducted unsuccessful offensives in the area of Keramik, Donetsk region. They launched air strikes in the areas of Novokalynove and Avdiivka, Donetsk region. More than 10 localities  in that area were shelled with artillery.

In the Marinka direction, the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to hold back the Russian offensive in the areas of Marinka and Krasnohorivka in the Donetsk region. Russia striked the area of Krasnohorivka, Donetsk region from the aircraft. More than 10 localities  in the Donetsk region came under artillery fire.

In the Shakhtarsk direction, the invaders made unsuccessful attempts to regain their lost ground near Urozhaine in Donetsk region and Novodarivka in Zaporizhzhia region. More than 10 localities were subjected to artillery shelling.

In the Zaporizhzhia direction, the Russian enemy launched an airstrike near Robotyne, Zaporizhzhia region. More than 25 localities of that region were affected by artillery shelling.

In the Kherson direction, more than 15 localities in Kherson and Mykolaiv regions suffered from hostile artillery attacks.

At the same time, the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to conduct offensive operations in the Melitopol and Berdyansk directions, consolidating their positions and conducting counter-battery operations.

Russia conducts 4 missile and 53 air strikes on Ukraine over the past day

Thus, the Russian Federation launched 4 missile and 53 air strikes, fired 40 times from multiple launch rocket systems at the positions of Ukrainian troops and populated areas. Russian terrorist attacks have resulted in deaths and injuries among the civilian population. Residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure have been destroyed.

Ukrainian Armed Forces destroyed 4 artillery units at firing positions, 2 ammunition depots and an electronic warfare station

Over the past day, the aviation of the Defense Forces carried out 7 strikes on the areas of the enemy's personnel, weapons and military equipment concentration and 2 strikes on anti-aircraft missile systems.

Missile and artillery units destroyed 4 artillery units at firing positions, 2 ammunition depots and 1 Russian electronic warfare station.

Ukrainian soldiers also managed to destroy 2 hostile Ka-52 attack helicopters and 4 reconnaissance UAVs of the operational and tactical level.
