Ukrainian forces do not let Russian army regain lost positions near Bakhmut – General Staff

Russia launched one missile and 49 air strikes on Ukraine overnight

During the day, the enemy carried out one missile and 49 air strikes, and fired 33 MLRS attacks at the positions of Ukrainian troops and populated areas. There are casualties among the civilian population.

The threat of missile and air strikes remains high across Ukraine.

Ukrainian defense forces struck 38 areas of enemy manpower and equipment concentration

There were 26 combat engagements that took place over the last day.

Over the past day, Ukrainian aviation struck 7 times at the areas where Russian personnel, weapons and military equipment were concentrated, once at the command post and one more time at the Russian air defense system.

During the day, missile and artillery units destroyed 10 artillery pieces in firing positions, 4 electronic warfare stations, 4 command posts, an area where weapons and military equipment were accumulated, 5 air defense systems, 3 areas of concentration of personnel and 2 more important enemy targets.

Situation in Ukrainian regions

On the northeastern border with Russia, the Russian army continued shelling the entire border line with mortars and artillery: over 20 settlements in the Chernihiv, Sumy, and Kharkiv regions were attacked. 

In the Kupiansk direction, 6 settlements in the Kharkiv region came under Russian artillery and mortar fire.

In the Lyman direction, 2 settlements in the Luhansk region and 3 settlements in the Donetsk region came under artillery fire.

In the Bakhmut direction, the Russian enemy made unsuccessful attempts to regain lost ground north and west of Klishchiyivka, Donetsk region. More than 10 settlements suffered from artillery shelling. 

In the Avdiivka direction, fighting under heavy fire from Russian aircraft and artillery, Ukrainian defenders successfully repelled attacks by Russian troops in the Avdiivka area. More than 10 settlements came under artillery fire. 

In the Marinka direction, Ukrainian defense forces continue to hold back the Russian offensive near the town of Marinka. The Russian enemy launched an airstrike in the area of Krasnohorivka; fired at more than 10 settlements. 

In the Shakhtarsk direction, the Russian forces conducted airstrikes in the 2 areas in Donetsk region; made unsuccessful attempts to regain lost ground east of Staromaiorske. More than 10 settlements came under artillery fire. 

In the Zaporizhzhia direction, the Russian troops focused on preventing further advance of Ukrainian forces; the Russian army launched an air strike near Orikhiv, Zaporizhzhia region. More than 15 settlements came under artillery fire. 

In the Kherson direction, over 10 settlements, including the city of Kherson, came under artillery fire. 

At the same time, the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to conduct offensive operations in the Melitopol and Berdyansk directions, consolidating their positions and conducting counter-battery operations.

Near the state Ukrainian border with Russia and Belarus, the situation hasn't changed significantly, and no enemy offensive groups have been detected.
